Dr. Anders is a sworn police officer with the Lee’s Summit, Missouri Police Department where he works in the newly formed Crime Reduction Team, the department’s pro-active unit geared towards working the more problematic areas of the community. Prior to working with the Lee’s Summit Police Department, Dr. Anders was a K9 handler and patrol officer with the Sedalia, Missouri Police Department. In addition to his role as a police officer, Dr. Anders is an adjunct professor of Criminal Justice at two online universities and one brick and mortar community college. Lastly, Dr. Anders is a research assistant with the National Development and Research Institute focusing on police officer health and injury. Dr. Anders holds a B.S., MCJ, and Ph.D. in Criminal Justice; his dissertation addressed the depolicing effect associated with racial profiling statutes and department policies.
